Parent Pledge
The “Parent Pledge” is a written commitment from parents to their child and to other parents. Parents agree that youth will not have access to alcohol or other drugs in their home and that they welcome communication with other parents.
The “Parent Pledge” allows parents to network with one another, closing the loopholes that allow youth to access alcohol without parental knowledge.
The “Parent Pledge” is brought to you by the Lodi Community Action Team (LCAT). The LCAT is a community-based organization committed to reducing underage alcohol and other drug use and building positive relationships between teens and their families and community.
The LCAT asks you to sign this 5-point promise:
1) I promise not to knowingly allow minors to consume alcohol or other drugs in my home.
2) I encourage other parents to call me when their teen will be at my home and to ask about teen activities and supervision at my home.
3) I promise to pick up my child if they are in danger and need a ride home. Questions can wait until the next morning.
4) I promise to talk to my teen about where they are going, what they are doing, whom they are with and when they will be home.
5) I promise to talk to my teen about the dangers of using controlled substances including prescription drugs.
You can return the signed pledge to the High School or Middle school Office.
A listing of all who have signed the pledge will be provided. In addition, for those interested, their names can be listed in a protected online directory. These Directories can be used by parents to network and insure that all parties will follow the pledge above.
